| Foresee PHP® (Preferential Hyperacuity Perimeter)
Features
The Foresee PHP is a macular perimeter, indicated as a diagnostic aid for detection and monitoring of the progression of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) including, but not limited to, the detection of Choroidal Neovascularization (CNV). AMD is the leading cause of blindness in Americans over age 60. Breakthrough treatments for CNV recently received FDA approval and have been scientifically proven to halt vision loss related to CNV and in some cases improve vision. These recent advancements have raised awareness of the need for better technology to monitor AMD patients and detect conversion to CNV at a significantly earlier stage. Early detection is directly correlated to effectiveness of treatment. The Foresee PHP is the only diagnostic technology available specifically developed for monitoring AMD and early detection of CNV.
Preferential Hyperacuity Perimetry is based on the visual phenomenon known as Hyperacuity or Vernier Acuity (10X more sensitive than standard acuity). It is the only technology of its kind and received FDA clearance in 2004.
